District Manager Deanna Fehrer demonstrated the Enviroscape for 22 participates at Landscape for Life, a program designed to teach sustainability. The Enviroscape is a model of a watershed that illustrates that what happens on the land affects the quality of our water. The District’s Enviroscape is available for teachers and other educators to borrow for presentations.
The Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a non-profit, political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia operating primarily on a grant basis with funds from state and local governments. Piedmont SWCD provides technical and educational assistance for natural resource conservation to land users, farmers, foresters, homeowners, and local governments in Amelia, Nottoway, and Prince Edward Counties. Since 1939, the District has delivered voluntary, locally-led conservation solutions to natural resource concerns.
