Lindy Hamlett served many years as the Piedmont SWCD’s Equipment Program Manager.  He was an agriculture producer for Rose Land Farm which was awarded the Clean Water Farm Award by The Department of Conservation and Recreation.  We are happy to honor him with a scholarship in his name.

The Lindy Hamlett Education Scholarship provides financial support to students majoring in, or showing a strong desire to study, a course curriculum related to natural resource conservation and/or environmental studies.  Applicants provide academic records, career goals, leadership, employment and volunteer experiences.  They also write an essay that addresses an environmental issue that they feel is important.

These $1000 scholarships are available to high school seniors and full-time college students having a permanent residence in Amelia, Nottoway or Prince Edward Counties.

Thank you to all our 2022 scholarship applicants. Congratulations to our winners!
