Straw Mulch Blower
The mulch blower is used to distribute straw/hay mulch over recently seeded areas. Many of our cost share participants utilize the blower during the installation of sod waterways/watering system pipelines.

A tractor of at least 40 HP and with one double acting hydraulic valve is necessary to operate the straw mulch blower. Only rock-free dry straw or hay is to be used in the chopper. Rental rate of $25 per day with a minimum charge of $25.

Earth Moving Pan
The earth moving pan is commonly used during the construction of sod waterways (a constructed waterway, shaped or graded and established in suitable vegetation, to safely convey water across areas of concentrated flow). This Best Management Practice helps to improve water quality by reducing the movement of sediment and nutrients from agricultural non-point sources.

A tractor of at least 40 HP is necessary to operate the pan. The tractor must also have a double acting hydraulic valve. The rental rate is $10 per hour with a minimum charge of $40.
