In the past the Piedmont SWCD, in cooperation with Peter Francisco SWCD, sponsored an annual week-long day camp for rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders. The camp focused on the importance of watersheds. Students learned how what we do in our watershed affects not only water quality but other natural resources. They got hands-on field experiences with activities like wildlife identification, biological and chemical aquatic monitoring, farm and other facility tours, GPS reading and soil analysis. The camp will be scheduled again in the future when resources allow.
